Appendix Section The Appendix section of the A.P.H.A caters for the Following categories: a. Appendix Stallion b. Appendix Mare An Appendix shall be an animal that meets the conformation requirements of our standard of excellence prescribed by the Association. a. Be of dilute colour, allowing for excessive white Markings b. No animal is eligible for Appendix registration which possesses markings or conditions characteristic of a Appaloosa, Palouse, Spotted pony or derivatives thereof. c. The Australian Palomino Horse breeders Association Inc., Rules & Regulations apply to all animals entered in the Appendix Section. Eg: Membership, Transfers & Leases, Branding etc. d. An Appendix registration is not a full registration, Animals entered into this section are not eligible to be shown in Palomino classes. Plaited manes and False Tails A Palomino horse maybe plaited except at State Championship shows and Shows that state manes and tails are to be free & flowing on programs. In the mane and tail class the judge may request the exhibitor to undo a number of plaits. It is permissible to cut or clip back at the poll a short length of the mane to present a neat appearance to the set of the head. Bleached, Dyed and hogged mane are not acceptable. False tails are permitted in all led classes, EXCEPT for the mane and tail class and APHA Championships
